Contributor Day

We are thrilled to announce that this year we will be organising Contributor Day! WordCamp Mumbai 2019 just got even better.

It’s will be a first in the history of the WordPress Mumbai community and our excitement knows no bounds.

Our anticipated event is dedicated towards improving WordPress through collaborative contributions from WordPress professionals.

Mark the date! Date – 8th November 2019

Fun Fact – WordPress is an open source system that drives more than 34% of all websites on the Internet!

WordPress is huge. The website or blog that you are reading could be running on WordPress! It is remarkably widespread and a preferred platform for users across different demographics. And it continues to grow and power businesses globally. It’s an open-source platform that has provided lots of opportunities to flourish.

Now it’s time to give back.

That’s what Contributor Day is all about.

Professionals of all ages, new and experienced in the WordPress community come together and help further improve the platform and extend its reach using their skills and expertise.

If you think you don’t know what to do, then worry not. The event will have experienced professionals and volunteers to guide you on how you can make WordPress better using your specific skill set.

We will be very happy to welcome you at the event and value your contribution.

There is always something you can do to make WordPress better.

Who can join?

Anyone and everyone can join us!

We want to make this an inclusive event and our aim is to provide a wide range of opportunities to contribute for WordPress. There are many ways you can contribute without technical coding knowledge and we look forward to welcoming you and sharing ideas.

Contributor Teams

We have several ways you can provide your valuable inputs and share ideas. We have created a brief snapshot so you can get a better picture of how you can help us make the day productive and fun.

Let’s come together and give back to our wonderful community!

Below is a list of the teams that make WordPress. We are working on having tasks from many of these teams at WCMumbai. If you can help, email us. As it is our first Contributor Day, we are pleased contributor Abha Thakor has agreed to support us. She is involved in developing resources and support for contributing and has led and co-organised events in WordCamps in other countries including WCEU and WordPress Translation Day 4. We are working with her on bringing in tips from other events, removing obstacles to contribution and how we can share materials from Mumbai with others. Lots more exciting news to come on what we will be doing and how you can get involved!
